Element Enduro SE
Enduro SE Upgrade Guide
This is not designed to be the definitive guide to upgrading your truck. It's here as a basic guide to show how to improve performance on this truck. Upgrades are personal to the driver and you should do what YOU WANT and not what you read here or on forums. This is designed to help beginners who are unsure what to do. It does not take into account any scale accessories you may wish to add to your truck.

1. Upgrade Tyres
The standard pin seeker tyres are OK to get you going, but a decent set of rubber will improve grip in most terrain.
Upgrading tyres is terrain dependent and you should consult with your local club for options before purchasing. Examples include:
Proline Hyrax: Good for rocky terrain
Proline Krawlers: Good all round tyre
Duratex Deep Woods: Good for Mud
In the South of England, we recommend Proline Krawlers in Predator compound.
2. Add Overdrive Gears
Unlike other Element kits and RTRs, the Enduro SE comes out of the box with a 1:1 ratio in the gearbox. You should change this to an overdrive set. This comes in three versions and you should pick the best version for your use case:
6% - Ideal for trail trucks
12% - Ideal for general use including trailing and competitions
18% - Ideal for competition use
You will also need shafts from the XF gearbox to mount these.
Part number: EL42027, EL42028, EL42026 and EL42338
3. Replace Wheels or Add Weights
Wheels are a personal thing and you should choose the ones you like the look of.
Metal bead-locks are your best bet as they add low down weight as well as securing tyres onto the rims and allow you to maintain foams and change tyres in the future.
Element also produce a brass hex to go on the kit wheels.
Avoid wheels where you need to glue the tyres on.
4. Replace Wheel Foams
Replace the foams with dual stage foams.
Examples include Proline Dual Stage Foams and 3D printed inserts.
Part number: PL6174-00
3D printed foams can be purchased from the RC community:
5. Add brass front knuckles
Adding low down weight to the front of the truck can help to move the weight bias towards the front aiming for a 60/40% split.
Various weights are available from Treal (GCRC), SSD (RCBitz), Fastrax and Injora (Ebay).
6. Upgrade Motor and ESC
This is a personal preference and directly related to how much budget you have. Here we give three examples, one brushed and two brushless.
Brushed: Hobbywing 1080 esc and Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Sport 21t or Crawlmaster Sport 15t
Brushless: Hobbywing Fusion 1800kv or Hobbywing Axe 2700kv
Brushless: Castle Creations Mamba X ESC and Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro V2 BL540 2200kv
7. Upgrade Steering Servo
Upgrading your steering servo can greatly improve your trucks handling and allow it to get out of tight spots. There are many, many options for steering servos, ranging in price from £20 to over £200.
Examples include:
Amazon Red and Blue Servos ranging from 25-35kg.
Savox 1210SG
Holmes Hobbies SHV800
8. Upgrade Links
The Enduro SE comes with plastic links. These bend under stress and the flex can hamper performance. Upgrading to metal links will solve this, but needs to be done in conjuction with the decision on which body you want to run. See below.
9. Upgrade Wheel Hexes
Replace the plastic wheel hexes with metal versions.
Part number: EL42076
10. Choose a body
The stock body is perfectly fine and will suit some people. If you want to change the body, you need to select the correct wheelbase length and links.
The stock body is 324mm, but the most common body length is 313mm.
11. Shorty Battery Pack
A shorty battery pack can help to reduce weight
Remember, this is only a guide and you should feel free to do what you want with your truck.
