Budget C1 competition build

Scx24 Basecamp
Bob · UKRCCA
THE BUILD

Designed as a very low budget build with good crawling capabilities as an ideal entry into competitions. Starting with an Axial SCX24 basecamp as a base car, the chassis has been replaced with a Velcrawl VC1 chassis to greatly improve the geometry of the suspension, lower the centre of gravity, and increase clearance. Wheels have been replaced with LGRP aluminium wheels (with brass rings) and Injora 50mm comp pins (any 1 inch wheels with at least some brass will work just fine). A brass differential cover has been fitted to the front to add a little more weight forward, and small elastic bands fitted to the shocks to keep it planted and low. A stock battery from a Micro B was used as I had spares and they fitted nicely between the chassis rails.
